Abstaining oneself from food and water requires real self control. Some people may not feel the pinch, but for some it is a harrowing experience. What scares some individuals is the biological symptoms experienced while fasting. These symptoms which pass away after a period of time are positive signs of biological purification. The body rids itself of toxins and dead cells, makes necessary adjustments, cleaning and reparation. Very few cases require the individual to break the fast.

One needs to be careful while driving, swimming or rising when one has very low blood pressure. If you have a low blood pressure before a fast, be careful. Do not fast for long, have energizing drinks, and do suitable exercises.
If you have kidney stones, it is advisable to wash them out before fasting, as there are chances of the stone falling off into big pieces and blocking the ureter which can be very harmful. However do not stop fasting, but take appropriate steps in unblocking the ureter.
