After a period of fasting, one tends to overindulge in food. It’s like waking up a slumbering digestive system. The desire to eat is very intense then. With the nasal passage being cleared and enhanced after the fast, eating will turn out to be a brand new experience. The body will scream out for food. This is when all your self control has to be exercised with much more determination. This is necessary to maintain the benefits you received during fasting. Here are a few tips which will enable you to cleanse your body through diet, supplements and life style practices after a detoxification program
- Include plenty of fiber in your diet, like brown rice,organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are excellent foods that detoxify your body.
- Herbs like dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle, and green tea help in cleaning and protecting the liver.
- Eat food rich in vitamin C, as it helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.
- Drink plenty of water. At least 8 glasses of water should be taken everyday.
- Breathe deeply to allow oxygen to circulate more completely through your system.
- Maintain a positive attitude, this will enable you to stay away from unnecessary stress.
- Sweat in a sauna so your body can eliminate wastes through perspiration. This is a great way of relaxing the body.
- An important way of detoxifying is Exercise. Yoga, martial arts and jump-roping are good exercises which help detoxify the body. One hour of exercise everyday enables cleansing and detoxification of the body.
