Nothing can stop women from talking. It’s like one of the inborn qualities of women. They talk…talk…and talk…But a new study from the American University of Beirut found that the longer a woman fasts, the less she tends to talk.
The study was conducted by Lebanese speech researchers Abdul-Latif Hamdan, Abla Sibai and Charcel Rameh on 28 healthy women during the period of Ramadan.
The researchers made an acoustic analysis of the voices of the women and examined their larynxes by video-endostroboscopy. After the study, the women were asked to tell about their ability to speak while fasting.
Results of the study:
Based on all the above results the researchers concluded, “Fasting affects voice”.
Why it happens?
To the above question the researchers explained that, it happens due to dehydration. Ramadan fasting includes refraining from liquids as well as food. This makes the larynxes dry which results in inability to speak
