73 million people are affected by Hyper Tension or high blood pressure as it is commonly known.2 million of them are children and teenagers.One in every three adults in the United states is affected by problem.This is the estimate of The American Heart Association.Research studies have found that Water Fasting can lower Hyper Tension.This article tries to gain further insight in to the findings.
What the Study Involved?
- The Study was conducted at the Center for Conservative Therapy, Penngrove, Calif, USA.
- 174 blood pressure patients were medically supervised to carry out water fasting.
- For two to three days before fasting, the subjects were allowed to intake fruits and vegetables only.
- The water fasting under medical supervision then lasted for ten to eleven days.
- For the next six to seven days,the subjects took vegetarian diet with low fat and sodium.
What the Study Revealed?
- 90% subjects blood pressure levels reduced.
- 37/13 mm Hg was the average drop in the blood sugar level.
- The greatest recovery was found in the subjects severely affected with Hyper Tension.
- The subjects later stopped the medication for hyper-tension and switched to fasting technique successfully.
- Thus,water fasting under medical supervision was found to safe and effective means of treating high blood pressure.

- The Artiries are the paths through which Oxygen rich blood flows to and from our heart.
- When these paths become narrow,the pressure of blood on their walls rise.This is called Blood pressure.
- Stress and Cholesterol are the two common and major culprits of Hypertension.
