  • Some contemporary side effects of juice fasting include tiredness, headache, constipation, hypoglycemia, acne, bad breath and increased body odor.
  • Other side effects include dizziness, fainting, low blood pressure, weight loss, heart arrhythmia, vomiting, kidney problems and diarrhea.
  • Fast should be discontinued when the above symptoms appear, otherwise these would lead to worsening of the existing symptoms. If you need to go to a physician, don’t hesitate.
  • The other important side effect of juice fasting is diarrhea, which can lead to loss of electrolytes from the body and dehydration. Thus, when juice fasting is continued for a long time, then it can lead to nutritional deficiencies, especially of calcium and protein.
  • When some people are undergoing drug therapy, they should not fast on grape juice, because some compounds of grape juice tend to change the metabolization of certain prescription drugs.
  • Some recent researches also prove that pomegranate juice also has the same effect.
