		<description>fasting is a wonderful tool that will help you mentally, spiritually and physically.  i am currently doing a 20 day fast.  I fast one day a week and every quarter i do a longer fast.  

@carolyn, chewing gum is a no no.  chewing signals the digestive system that food is coming.  the point of a fast is to let your digestive system rest.  

go online or to the book store and get books on fasting.  it is extremely important for you to have a thorough understanding about what is happening to your body on a fast.  fasting is not something to go into blindly.  please do your research because long fasts can have serious repercussions if done incorrectly.  good luck !!</description>
